At TCS we celebrate middle school as a time filled with opportunities for spiritual, academic, and social growth. We strive to provide a safe, academically rigorous environment where our students can flourish under the direction of highly qualified educators who truly care about their success.
Connecting with positive role models is an important part of middle childhood development. We provide multiple ways for that connection to occur – whether it’s through core classroom interaction, the variety of electives, top-notch arts programs, award-winning sports and extra-curricular activities, or just the daily contact with our caring, professional staff, middle school students receive the attention and direction that is vital to educational, social, and spiritual growth.
Social growth through peer interaction is a vital part of the middle school years. Providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere balanced with a rigorous learning environment is essential. Field trips, daily recess, spirit week, Inventor Days all work together to promote an atmosphere of unity and excitement. In the fall of sixth grade, our students travel to Lake Erie’s South Bass Island to attend Ohio State University’s Stone lab. During the winter of seventh grade, Cincinnati is our destination. After spending the day at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, we spend the night at the Creation Museum. Then in the spring of eighth grade, we travel to Beulah Beach for a day and night of spiritual emphasis, capped off with a trip to Cedar Point for math and science days.
