The Junior and Senior Leadership Series, orchestrated by Grant Sims (class of ’09), is an informal lunch setting for our upperclassmen to hear from outstanding local leaders. At Toledo Christian we educate, disciple, and prepare tomorrow’s leaders to impact the world for Christ. The Leadership Series is a great example of one of the key steps we have in place to accomplish our mission.
Dr. Clint Longenecker kicked off the series last week on “Career Success and Survival.” Dr. Longenecker is a distinguished professor at the University of Toledo, has written multiple books and countless articles on leadership, and is considered a world-renowned scholar and educator.
Drawing from his extensive research on leadership and what successful people do, as well as his 30 years as a college professor, he provided the students with both practical and professional lessons to help them be successful in life, no matter what path they take. He challenged the students to aim to be the best at whatever they do, gave them actionable insights on how to develop successful characteristics, and encouraged them to be proactive in always bettering themselves. “We are very blessed and thankful for Dr. Longenecker’s willingness to come and speak to our upperclassman.” Grant Sims – Class of 2009
Dr. Clint and Cindy Longenecker graduated two students from Toledo Christian: Clint Jr. ’07 and Shannon ’08.
“I thought Mr. Longenecker did a great job, I especially liked when he said “If you have time to worry, you have time to pray”. His keys to success were also very interesting.” – Kyle Kempton – Senior
